HISTORICAL SUMMARY : The Dachshund, also called Dackel or Teckel, has
been known since the Middle Ages. From the 《Bracken》, dogs were constantly bred
which were specially suitable for hunting below ground. From these short legged
dogs, the Dachshund evolved and was recognised as one of the most versatile and
useful breeds of hunting dogs. He also has excellent achievements above ground,
hunting while giving tongue, searching and tracking wounded game. The oldest Club
devoted to the breeding of Dachshunds is the 《Deutsche Teckelklub》 e.V., founded

《Deutsche Teckelklub》 e.V.である。 GENERAL APPEARANCE : Low, short legged, elongated but compact build, very muscular with cheeky, challenging head carriage and alert facial expression. His general appearance is typical of his sex. In spite of his legs being short in relation to the long body, he is very mobile and lithe. 一般外貌： IMPORTANT PROPORTIONS : With the distance above ground level of about one third of the height at withers, the body length should be in harmonious relation to height at withers, about 1 to 1,7 - 1,8. 重要とされる体のプロポーション： BEHAVIOUR /TEMPERAMENT : Friendly by nature, neither nervous nor aggressive, with even temperament. Passionate, persevering and fast hunting dog with an excellent nose. 態度／気質： HEAD : Elongated as seen from above and in profile. Tapering uniformly towards the nose leather yet not pointed. CRANIAL REGION : 頭蓋の部分 Skull : Rather flat, gradually merging with the slightly arched nasal bridge. スカル： どちらかといえば平ら。わずかにアーチがかった鼻陸につながっている。 Stop : Only indicated. ストップ： かすかに認識できる程度 FACIAL REGION : 顔面の部分 Nose : Leather well developed. 鼻： 革がよく発達している。 Muzzle : Long, sufficiently broad and strong. Can be opened wide, split to level of eye. マズル： 長くて、充分な幅があり頑丈。 両目の高さまで大きく開くことが出来る。 Lips : Taut fitting, covering the lower jaw well. 唇： キリッと引きしまり下顎をうまく覆っている Jaws/Teeth : Well developed upper and lower jaw. Scissor bite, even and closing firmly. Ideally, complete set of 42 teeth according to requirements for a dog's mouth with strong Canines exactly fitting into each other. 顎／歯： 上下顎共に良く発達している。平らにしっかりと噛み合わさったシザーズ・バイト。犬の口として必要とされる４２本すへての歯が生えそろっているのが理想的である。丈夫な犬歯が正しく噛み合わさっている。 Eyes : Medium size, oval, set well apart, with clear energetic yet friendly expression. Not piercing. Colour bright, dark reddish brown to blackish brown in all coat colours. Wall, fish or pearl eyes in dapple dogs are not desired but may be tolerated. 目： 中サイズの楕円形。両目の間隔が開いている。明朗快活で親しげな表情をしている。突き刺すような感じでない。目の色は、生き生きとした印象を与えるもの。すべての色のコートにおいて、濃いレディッシュ・ブラウンからブラッキッシュ・ブラウンまで。ダップルカラーの犬の場合には、ウォール・アイやフィッシュ・アイ、パール・アイは望ましいものではないが、認められる。 Ears : Set on high, not too far forward. Sufficiently long but not exaggerated. Rounded, not narrow, pointed or folded. Mobile with front edge lying close to cheek. 耳:： 高く、あまり前方過ぎない位置にある。充分な長さはあるが長過ぎてもいけない。幅があり丸みを帯びている。先がとがったり、折れたりしていない。よく動き、前端は頬に接している。
NECK : Sufficiently long, muscular. Tight fitting skin on throat. Lightly arched nape of neck, carried freely and high. 首： 長さが充分あり筋肉質。喉の皮膚にはたるみがない。首筋はわずかにアーチがかっている。大胆に高く保持している。
BODY : ボディー Upper line : Blending harmoniously from neck to slightly sloping croup. 上部のライン： 首から少し傾いている尻まで、調和の取れたなだらかな線を描いている。 Withers : Pronounced. キ甲部： はっきりわかる。 Back : Behind the high withers, topline running from the thoracic vertebrae straight or slightly inclined to the rear. Firm and well muscled. 背中： 高いキ甲部から後ろに続くトップラインは、胸部の脊椎骨からまっすぐ、またはわずかに傾斜して後部に続いている。ぐらつきがなく、筋肉が発達している。 Loins : Strongly muscled. Sufficiently long. 腰: 強固な筋肉 充分に長い。 Croup : Broad and sufficiently long. Slightly sloping. 尻: 幅広く充分な長さがある。わずかに傾きがある。 Chest : Sternum well developed and so prominent that slight depressions appear on either side. The ribcage, seen from the front, is oval. Seen from above and the side, it is roomy, giving plenty of space for the heart and lung development. Ribs carried well back. With correct length and angulation of shoulder blade and upper arm, the front leg covers the lowest point of the sternal line in profile. 胸: 充分に発達した肋骨が非常に出っ張っていて、両側にわずかなくぼみが見られる。前から見ると胸郭は楕円形をしている。上部と側面から見ると発達した心臓や肺を包み込めるほどの充分な広さがある。あばら骨が充分後方まで伸びている。側面から見た時、肩胛骨と上腕が正しい長さと角度でついていれば、前足は、肋骨が一番地面につきそうな位置にくる。 Underline and Belly : Slight tuck up. アンダーラインと腹部: わずかに巻き上がっている。 TAIL : Not set on too high, carried in continuation of topline. A slight curve in the last third of the tail is permitted. 尾: あまり高すぎない位置にある。トップラインの延長でつながっている。最後の３つの尾椎がわずかにカーブしていても認められる。
LIMBS 四肢 FOREQUARTERS : 前足 General : Strongly muscled, well angulated. Seen from front, clean front legs, standing straight with good strength of bone; feet pointing straight forward. 外貌: 強固な筋肉がついている。十分な角度がある。前足は骨が丈夫で、前方から見るとまっずく立ち、足先もまっすぐ前を向いている。 Shoulders : Pliant muscles. Long sloping shoulder blade, fitting close to chest. 肩： 柔軟な筋肉をしている。肩胛骨は長く傾斜して胸部に接合している。 Upper arm : Equal in length to shoulder blade, set almost at right angle to same. Strong boned and well muscled, close fitting to ribs but free in movement. 上腕： 肩胛骨と同じ長さで、肩胛骨に対し直角についている。強い骨、発達した筋肉が肋骨近くに接合しているが、動きは自由である。 Elbows : Turning neither in nor out. 肘： 内側にも外側にも曲がっていない。 Forearm : Short, yet so long that the dog痴 distance from the ground is about one third of its height at withers. As straight as possible. 前腕： 短いけれども、地面からボディまでの高さは、地面からキ甲部までの高さのおよそ３分の１であること。できるだけ真っ直ぐ Pastern joints : Slightly closer together than the shoulder joints. 中手関節： 肩関節よりわずかに間隔が狭い Pastern : Seen from the side, should be neither steep nor noticeably inclined forward. 中手骨： 側面から見た場合、極端にあるいは目立つほど前方に傾いていてはいけない。 Front feet : Toes close together, well arched with strong, resistant, well cushioned pads and short strong nails. The fifth toe has no function but must not be removed. 前足首： ぎゅっとしまった足先は、アーチ型を描き、強く抵抗力がある。パッドには充分な弾力があり、固く短い爪が生えている。５番目の指は機能していないが、欠落していてはならない。
HINDQUARTERS : 後ろ足 General : Strongly muscled, in correct proportion to forequarters. Strong angulation of stifles and hock joints. Hindlegs parallel standing neither close nor wide apart. 外貌： 筋肉があり力強い。前足と正しく釣り合いが取れている。膝関節と飛節の角度は大きい。後ろ足は平行に立ち、両足は近寄りすぎても離れすぎてもいけない。 Upper thigh : Should be of good length and well muscled. 大腿： 充分長く筋肉が発達している。 Stifle (joint) : Broad and strong with pronounced angulation. 膝（関節）： 幅広く力強く、角度がはっきりしている。 Lower thigh : Short, almost at right angle to upper thigh. Well muscled. 下腿： 短く、大腿に対してほとんど直角。筋肉が発達している。 Hock joint : Clean with strong tendons. 飛節： すっきりとして強い腱がついている。 Hock : Relatively long, mobile towards lower thigh. Lightly curved forward. 中足： 比較的長く、下腿に向かって動く 前方へ少し湾曲している。 Hind feet : Four close knit toes, well arched. Standing firmly on strong pads. 後ろ足首： ４本の指がしっかりくっついて、きれいなアーチ型を描いている。丈夫なパッドの上にしっかりと立っている。
GAIT / MOVEMENT : Movement should be ground covering, flowing and energetic, with far reaching front strides without much lift, and strong rear drive movement should produce slightly springy transmission to backline. Tail should be carried in harmonious continuation of backline, slightly sloping. Front and hindlegs have parallel movement. 歩様／動作： 動きは、しっかり地面を踏みしめ、流れるようでエネルギッシュでなくてはならない。足はあまり持ち上げすぎず前へ大きく出す。力強い後ろへの足蹴りで少し弾みがつき、バックラインへ伝わっていく。尾はバックラインの延長として、わずかに傾きながらも釣り合いよくつながっている。前足と後ろ足は平行に動く。
SKIN : Tight fitting. 皮膚： 張りがある COAT コート SMOOTH-HAIRED スムース・ヘアー HAIR : Short, dense, shiny, smooth fitting, tight and harsh. Not showing any bald patches anywhere. ヘアー： 短くて艶があり張りのあるしっかりした手触りの毛が、均一に隙間なく生えている。どこにも脱毛した部分があってはならない。 Tail : Fine, fully but not too profusely coated. Somewhat longer guard hair on underside is not a fault. 尾： 先へ行くほど細くなり、多すぎない程度の充分なコートで覆われている。幾分、長目のガードコートが伸び出してしても欠点にはならない。 COLOUR : カラー a) Whole-coloured : Red, reddish yellow, yellow, all with or without interspersed black hairs. A clear colour is preferable and red is of greater value than reddish yellow or yellow. Even dogs with strongly interspersed black hairs are classed as whole-colour, not as other colours. White is not desired but single small spots do not disqualify. Nose and nails black . reddish-brown is also permissible but not desirable. a)単色： レッドやレデッシュ・イエロー、イエローはみな、黒い毛が散在していてもいなくても構わない。鮮やかなカラーほど好まれるため、レデッシュ・イエロー、イエローよりもレッドの方が高く評価される。黒い毛が散在しているとはっきりとわかるような犬であっても、単色と分類される。他のカラーとして分類されない。ホワイトは望ましいカラーではないが、小さな白い斑点が点在していても、欠点とは見なされない。鼻と爪は黒。 レディッシュ・ブラウンも認められるが、望ましくない。 b) Two-coloured : Deep black or brown, each with tan or yellow markings《Brand》 over eyes, on sides of muzzle and of lower lip, on inner edge of leathers, on forechest, on inside and rear side of legs, also on the feet, round the vent and from there reaching to about one third or one-half of the underside of the tail. Nose and nails black in black dogs, brown in brown dogs. White is not desired but single small spots do not disqualify. Tan or yellow marking《Brand》 too wide spread is undesirable. b) 二色： 濃いブラックもしくはブラウンに、タンやイエローのマーキング（Brand）が目の上やマズルの外側、下唇あたり、耳の内側、胸回り、足の内側や後ろ側に入っている。また足先の表側、肛門のまわり、肛門からしっぽの先までの下側、長さで言うと３分の１から半分ぐらいまでマーキングが入っていることもある。鼻と爪の色は、ブラックの犬は黒く、ブラウンの犬はブラウンであること。ホワイトは望ましくないが、小さな白い斑点が点在していても、欠点とは見なされない。タンやイエローのマーキング（Brand）が広がりすぎているのは望ましくない。 c) Dappled (Tiger-brindle, brindle) : The basic colour is always the dark colour (black, red or grey). Desired are irregular grey or beige patches (large patches not desired). Neither the dark nor the light colour should be predominant. The colour of a brindle Dachshund is red or yellow with darker brindle. Nose and toenails are the same as with the whole- and two-coloured. ｃ）ダップル（タイガー・ブリンドル、ブリンドル）： 基本のなるカラーは、大抵、濃い色（ブラックやレッド、またはグレイ）不 規則なグレイかベージュ色の斑点が望ましいとされる。（大きい斑点は良くない） 斑点の色が濃くても薄くても良くない。ブリンドル・ダックスフンドのカラーは、レッドやイエローに、地色より濃い色の縞があるものを指す。鼻と爪の色に関しては、単色、二色の場合と同じである。 WIRE-HAIRED ワイヤーヘアー HAIR : With exception of muzzle, eyebrows and leathers, perfectly even close fitting, dense wiry topcoat with undercoat. The muzzle has a clearly defined beard. Eyebrows are bushy. On the leathers, the coat is shorter than on the body, almost smooth. ヘアー： マズルと眉毛、耳を除き、全身に隙間なく平らに、艶のあるワイヤーのトップコートとアンダーコートがはえそろっている。マズルには、はっきりとわかるくらいのあごひげがあり、眉毛の毛も多い。耳の毛はホディーの毛より短く、ほとんとスムース。 Tail : Well and evenly covered with close fitting coat. 尾： 充分、均等に短い毛に覆われている。 COLOUR : Dominantly light to dark wild boar colour as well as colour of dry leaves. Otherwise same colours as described under Smooth-haired a-c. カラー： 明るいものから暗いものまでワイルドボアー・カラーが圧倒的だが、乾燥した葉のような カラーもある。その他には、スムースヘアーa-cで述べたカラーがあげられる。
LONG-HAIRED ロングヘアー HAIR : The sleek shiny coat, with undercoat and close fitting to body, is longer at the throat and on underside of body. On leathers the hair must extend beyond the lower edge of ears (feathering). Distinct feathers on rear side of legs. Achieves its greatest length on underside of tail and there forms a veritable flag. ヘアー： アンダーコートの上に、なめらかなシルキーコートが全身にむらなく覆っていて、咽のあたりやボディーの下側の方に長目の毛が生えている。両耳には、耳先より長い毛（飾り毛）がある。足の後ろ側の飾り毛はよく目立つ。尾の下側の毛が最も長く、旗のような形を描いている。 COLOUR : As described in Smooth-haired a-c. カラー： スムースヘアーa-cで述べたカラー
SIZE AND WEIGHT/ IMPORTANT MEASUREMENTS :サイズと体重 重要とされる体の寸法： Dachshund : Circumference of chest 35 cm. Upper weight limit about 9 kg. ダックスフンド： 胸囲３５cm 体重の上限 約９kg Miniature Dachshund : Circumference of chest from 30 to 35 cm measured when at least 15 months old. ミニチュア・ダックフンド ： 生後１５か月時で胸囲３０〜３５cm Rabbit Dachshund : Chest circumference up to 30 cm measured when at least 15 months. ラビット・ダックスフンド ： 生後１５か月時で胸囲３０cm。 Weight : Standard Dachshund up to about 9 kg. 体重：スタンダード・ダックス 約９kg
FAULTS : 欠点 Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree. これまで述べた点に該当しないものは、どのようなものでも欠点と見なされる。その欠点の深刻さは、実際の程度で判断される M3 (Molar 3) are not to be considered when judging. Lack of 2PM1 (Premolar 1) is not to be penalised. The absence of PM2 should be regarded as a fault, if other than M3, no other teeth are missing, also a departure from the correctly closing scissor bite. M3（第３後臼歯） はジャッジの対象とされない。2PM1(第１前臼歯)２本が欠落していても、ペナルティにはならない。第２前臼歯１本の欠落が欠点と見なされるのは、第３後臼歯以外の歯がちゃんとはえそろっていても、正常なシザーズ・バイトの噛み合わせからずれている場合。
SERIOUS FAULTS : 深刻な欠点 Weak, long-legged or body trailing on ground. 弱々しく長い足 安定しないボディー The absence of teeth other than those described among <faults> or <eliminating faults>. 「欠点」や「削除されるべき欠点」の項目に上げられた以外の歯の欠落 Wall eye in any colour other than dapple. ダップル以外の全てのカラーにおけるウォール・アイ Pointed, very folded ear leathers. 先がとがっている耳 ひどく折れ曲がった耳 Body suspended between shoulders. 両肩の間に垂れ下がったボディー Hollow back, roach back. 落ち込んだ背中 ローチバック Weak loins. 弱々しい腰 Marked running up at rear (croup higher than withers). 目立つほど高い腰部（臀部がキ甲部より高い状態） Chest too weak. 弱々しい胸 Flanks with whippety-like tuck up. グレートハウンドのような巻き上がった腹部 Badly angulated fore- and hindquarters. 著しく曲がった四肢 Narrow hindquarters, lacking muscle. 細くてきゃしゃな後ろ足 Cow hocks or bow legs. カウ・ホック または傾いた足 Feet turning markedly inwards or outwards. 極端に内側あるいは外側に向いている足 Splayed toes. 広がりすぎている足の指 Heavy, clumsy, waddling movement. 重々しい動作、きごちない動作、よたよたした動作 FAULTY COAT : コートに関する欠点 SMOOTH -HAIRED DACHSHUND : スムースヘアーダックスフンド Coat too fine or thin. Bald patches on leathers (leather ear), other bald areas. 著しくきめが細かく、細すぎるコート。皮膚（耳などの）や他の部分に見られるハゲ。 Coat much too coarse and much too profuse. きめが荒く、毛が多すぎるコート Brush like tail. ブラシのような尾 Tail partially or wholly hairless. 部分的、あるいは全体的に毛が生えていない尾 Black colour without any marking《Brand》. マーキング（Brand）が全く入っていないブラック
WIRE-HAIRED DACHSHUND : ワイヤーヘアーダックスフンド Soft coat, whether long or short. 長さに関係なく柔らかい毛 Long coat, standing away from body in all directions. 長く、ボディーからあちこちに逆立つコート Curly or wavy coat. 巻き毛やウェイブがかったコート Soft coat on head. ヘッドの柔らかい毛 Flag on tail. 飾り毛のある尾 Lack of beard. あごひげの欠落 Lack of undercoat. アンダーコートの欠落 Short coat. 短いコート
LONG-HAIRED DACHSHUND : ロングヘアーダックスフンド Coat of equal length all over body. 全身、長さが同じコート Wavy or shaggy coat. ウェイブがかったり、もじゃもじゃしているコート Lack of flag (tail) 飾り毛のない尾 Lack of overhanging feathering on ears. 両耳のまわりの飾り毛の欠落 Short coat. 短いコート Pronounced parting in coat on back. 背中にそって分け目がくっきり入っているコート Hair too long between toes. 足の指の間から伸び出ている毛
Very anxious or aggressive nature. 神経質過ぎたり、攻撃性の強すぎる性格 Overshot or undershot mouth, wry mouth. オーバーショット、アンダーショット 歪な口 Faulty position of the lower canines. 正しい位置に生えていない下顎の犬歯 Absence of one or more canines; absence of one or more incisors. １本でも犬歯がない場合 １本でも切歯がない場合 Lack of other premolars or molars. 前臼歯や後臼歯がない場合 Exceptions : The two PM1, one PM2 without consideration of M3, as mentioned under Faults. 例外：「欠点」の項目で述べたように第３後臼歯は対象外として、第１前臼歯２本、第２前臼歯１本の欠落 Chest : Sternum cut off. 胸 胸骨が折れている Any fault of tail. 尾に見られる欠点 Very loose shoulders. 非常にしまりのない肩 Knuckling over in pasterns. ナックリングオーバー Black colour without markings (Brand); white colour with or without markings (Brand). マーキング(Brand)の入っていないブラックカラー マーキング(Brand)のあるなしを問わず、ホワイトカラー Colours other than those listed under ・Ｃolour・ 「カラー」の項目に記述されているカラー以外のカラー
N.B. : Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum. N.B.: 雄犬の場合は陰嚢の下にちゃんと正常な睾丸が二つついていなくてはならない。
reddish-brown のカラーについて reddish-brown というカラーについて「コートカラーとして認められるのか」という質問をＦＣＩに文書にてお伺いしました。ＦＣＩより、ＶＤＨをご紹介いただきブリードオーナーである DEUTSCHER TECKELKLUB 1888 E.V. より２００３年７月２３日に以下のようにご返事をいただきました １, Reddish-brown is for the coat allow. レディッシュブラウンはコートカラーとして認められる。 2, This dogs can also have reddish-brown noses and nails. The color is acceptable but not desirable.
この（カラーの）犬たちは、レイデッシュ・ブラウンの鼻や爪をしていることもある。
